Championship in sight for Venter at Phillip Island
Following a strong showing at the latest round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship in the category’s return to Bathurst, Jonathan Venter will again return to the seat in this weekend’s final round of the Victorian State Formula Ford Championship, one that will decide the hotly contested series.
Phillip Island is a track that has already offered up success for Venter this season, with the last state series round held there in April seeing him take a clean sweep of race victories and a round win, this alone gives him firm confidence of another strong result.
“Heading into the final round of the Victorian series is very exciting and being in the lead of the championship has added a bit more pressure but has also meant that my goals for the weekend are to stay at the front and hopefully win it,” Venter said.
Another dense field will grace the World famous circuit with up to 40 in previous rounds, it ensures that Jonathan remains focussed ensuring to utilise his race craft to the best of his abilities.
“As always the field is full of strong competitors and so the racing will be hard but at least it will be a good end to what has been a successful year so far,” said Venter.
The experience of competing at Mount Panorama last weekend is something Jonathan is sure to add to his string of career experiences, and will continue to assist in the development of his career into the future.
“Racing at Bathurst, especially as part of the 50th anniversary of the ‘Great Race’ was an amazing journey and something I hope to re live very soon,” Venter concluded.
The final round of the Victorian State Formula Ford Championship will take place on October 13-14 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Victoria.
